Tongva Park formerly Palisades Garden Walk

Owner: City of Santa Monica

Landscape Architect: James Corner Field Operations

Building Architect: Fredrick Fisher and Partners

General Contractor: W.E. O’Neil

The 7-acre new Tongva Park and Ken Genser Square and adjacent streetscapes will provide a pivotal link between Santa Monica’s Civic Center and its major cultural, natural, and economic assets. The site is uniquely situated to become a civic destination in the heart of Santa Monica and will reconnect the northern and southern portions of the City that have been bisected by the freeway. Shaw & Sons finishes on this project include LQS, Lithocrete, Presto Finish Walls, and custom distressed walls.

Shaw and Sons were critical in the design development of the concrete finishes throughout Tongva Park. Their dedication to the project and collaboration with the design team allowed for a complex set of design ideas too come to life. The finished product is beautiful and unique and a great representation of highly skilled concrete work that reflects Shaw and Sons attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Many thanks to the whole Shaw and Sons team, it was an absolute pleasure to work with you all, a truly memorable experience.
