Grand Park (formerly known as Civic Park) is located in Downtown Los Angeles. The 12 acre, 4 block park connects the Music Hall and Los Angeles’ City Hall Building. To promote a sense of community amongst the residences in LA, the Music Hall has been put in charge of organizing live music festivals, theatre, educational programming and a farmers market. The $56 million project was funded by Related, a private development company. Shaw & Sons Lithocrete materials include black marble, groove trowel bands, and pneumatic spray field panels and bands as well as cast in place stairs with a light etch finish. The cast in place wall details control cracking and hide bleed water from panel joints, with built in skate deterrent.
