2049 Century Park East Renovation

Owner: One Hundred Towers, LLC

Architect: Keating Khang

Landscape Architect: SWA Group

General Contractor: Hathaway Dinwiddie

Originally designed by : Minoru Yamasaki

New Lobbies and a new auto drop off were configured. This was accomplished by constructing a conical shaped screen wall at the perimeter of the project and installing high-load, 40 foam over the existing structural deck. This compensated for the revised elevations and imposing loads prior to constructing the new Lithocrete auto court driveway and turn around.

Cibola Gold Lithocrete spans the entire outdoor plaza around the Minoru Yamasaki designed towers from the Valet to Century Park. All the waterproofing material was replaced during the renovation, and Shaw & Sons utilized the “deadmen” form system to avoid penetration of the new waterproofing.

With over 4 acres of open space in the heart of Century City, ‘Century Park’ needed to become a world-class destination to compete the project’s vision. The landscape and hardscape for the centerpiece has to seamlessly integrate and unity both 2000 Avenue of the Stars and Century Plaza Towers. Ron and his team were instrumental in developing pallets that addressed maintenance, glare and durability while still adding to the material quality of the two premier properties. They handle their product with workmanship and exacting precision. It’s that exceptional care that sets Shaw & Sons apart as true artisans.
