10100 Santa Monica Boulevard

Landscape Architect: DMJM Architects

General Contractor: Swinerton

Located on the western edge of the fabled Century City business and residential district, this high-visibility office tower along Santa Monica Boulevard underwent a substantial remodeling. As part of the comprehensive renovation, the rear plaza became a bold checkerboard of grass and white concrete panels installed by Shaw & Sons, accentuated with Jacaranda trees planted in custom concrete cylinders surrounded with slatted teak benches. The plaza is constructed over three-sack slurry, over two pound foam over structure.

At 10100 Santa Monica, the Lithocrete® entrance plaza reinforces our design concept by creating a strong link between the parking annex and the main building lobby. The flexibility inherent in the use of the paving allows for a unique mix of hardscape and softscape elements in a park like setting. The Lithocrete® mix utilizes aggregates that complement the interior granite paving in a cost effective manner, forming a graceful transition to the interior space.
