Oceansafe

Oceansafe is a new, patented process that Shaw & Sons has developed to prevent storm water runoff from reaching our oceans & then filtering the captured water and returning it to our depleting aquifers. Oceansafe:

• Complies with California State Bill 790.
• It is Architecturally & Aesthetically pleasing
• Easy to Install
• Durable
• Easy Upkeep
• Economical
• Filters out Toxins
• Restores natural Filtration
• Qualifies for LEED points
• Can be integrated with any type of new or existing hardscape

MORE ABOUT OCEANSAFE

shaw_2007_parking_lot_with_Oceansafe

In 2007 Shaw & Sons installed Oceansafe in their 3,000 square foot parking lot. It was designed to handle 2.90 gallons per sq. ft., which is 4.5 times the amount a typical (1”) Southern California Rainstorm generates.

STEP 1

Storm water collects
at hardscape surface points, entering into surface drains that are accurately placed where the largest volumn of water flows.

STEP 2

Water flows through
the surface drains, traveling through silt and chemical removing filters before it enters the leach field.

STEP 3

Water then enters a pre-enginered water storage field of void-spaced aggregates, naturally filtering the water before migrating into the aquaduct.

STEP 4

As water travels to the aquaduct, it slowely percolates through a permeable lens, eventually leaching into the natural local soil base.
